GMTBIKING TERMS & CONDITIONS
All activities provided by GMTBIKING (“us”, “we”, “our”) are sold to the client (“the Client”, “you”, “your”) subject to the conditions listed in this document.
Terms and Conditions Contents
BOOKING AND PAYMENT
To place your booking please do one of the following:
complete the on-line booking form available at GMTBIKING OR

To secure your booking pay the following amount:
Full payment non-refundable for bookings made less than 30 days before the date of the activity.
30% non-refundable deposit per person for booking made more than 30 days before the date of the activity. The outstanding balance must be paid 20 days prior to the activity.
You can do the payment by bank transfers or PayPal. We will send you the payment details with the confirmation by email.
Your activity is booked when a deposit is received, and your activity confirmation with the dates is dispatched.
We reserve the right to cancel your reservation should you fail to pay the outstanding balance 30 days prior to the activity.
to make a booking you must be 18 years or over. Parents or legal guardians must authorize and accompany the participation in our biking activities.
Your booking is accepted on the basis that you provide accurate medical information, so we can be best informed about managing your safety.
It is extremely unlikely that any medical condition will prevent you from taking part in the activity.
We cannot be held responsible for damage and/or loss to your personal possessions or injury to you which occurs as a result of cycling on or off-road or in transit. We are not liable for failure in carrying out the activities if the failure is due to the action of the participant or the action of a third party. We cannot accept any liability in the event delay or alterations caused by circumstances or events beyond our reasonable control.
Cancellation by you
All cancellations must be made in writing from the lead name on the booking. Charges will be applied:
Cancellation 30 days or more before the start date – non-refundable deposit will be charged.
Cancellation less than 30 days before the start date – full booked price will be charged.
Cancellation by us
We reserve the right to cancel the activity or change the itinerary due to adverse weather conditions or other external factors beyond our control. For example, by natural disasters (e.g. fire, floods, earthquakes, etc.), riots, or war. In these circumstances, you will first be offered an alternative date. If this is not acceptable, we will pay a full refund of the booking.
We also reserve the right to cancel the activity where the minimum numbers of participants are not met 30 days before departure. In these circumstances, you will first be offered an alternative date. If this is not acceptable, we will pay a full refund of the booking.
We cannot be liable for any other expenses you may have incurred as a result of your booking, for example, travel arrangements.
GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR)
We only keep the data you give us through the booking forms and/or contact form and subsequent communication, be they by phone, WhatsApp, email or social media or any other reasonable communication means which are directly relevant to your booking and riding experience at GMTBIKING. We do not share your data with any third parties, and we do not use it for any other purposes than those directly relevant to your booking.
Newsletter opt-in: We may send you updates about our business, rental fleet and riding area.
PICTURES, AND SOCIAL MEDIA
We will NOT sell any pictures where you may appear. We may use photos/videos taken during our activities for marketing purposes, this includes Social media, newsletters and website materials. By using our services you give us the right to use the above mentioned photos/videos.
Safety and enjoyment
The safety and enjoyment of the group is our number one priority.
You accept that mountain biking can be hazardous, may involve discomfort and there are times when it can involve risk of injury or even death. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you agree to take full responsibility for your own actions.
You must at all times ride within your own ability and always wear approved safety equipment.
We reserve the right to stop you from participating if your bike or safety equipment is not in safe working order.
We reserve the right to remove you from the activity if you fail to comply with a decision made by a guide or interfere with the well-being of the group. We will not be liable for any refund in these circumstances.
You must confirm that you are fit to participate in your chosen activity and that you have informed us of any medical conditions affecting your participation in the activity.
GMTBIKING does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings, or personal injury resulting from your participation.
Participants are responsible for their equipment which needs to be suitable and in good working order.
GMTBIKING is not responsible for any damage or equipment loss. All riders must wear a bike helmet conforming to CE standard EN1078 at all times and we also recommend wearing gloves and riding glasses.
Health insurance/personal accident insurance: we recommend you have adequate insurance which covers such activities (mountain biking). It is your responsibility to hold your own health insurance policy to cover personnel medical care in case of accident.
Travel insurance: it is your responsibility to hold your own travel insurance policy to cover luggage, or personal possessions and money; loss due to cancellation, or personnel medical care in case of accident.
MOUNTAIN BIKING CODE OF CONDUCT
Show respect for all other users, local ways and traditions.
Close any gate you may encounter along the trail.
Always Give Way, let people know you are there. Pass wide and slow, particularly with horse-riders and approach with caution on blind corners and descents. Remember - Be Nice, Say Hi! If in Portugal say Olá
Control Your Bike Stay focussed, check your speed, and think about other people.
Know your bike, your equipment, your ability and wear appropriate safety gear, and helmet.
Take care of the environment.
Avoid Disturbing Animals - farm, pet and wild animals are startled by sudden noise, be considerate; do not feed them.
Do not pick plants, seeds or collect geological samples.
Practice low impact cycling to protect trails, keep to the line of existing trails.
You are responsible for your own garbage and waste. Place them in the proper bins or take it with you.

Purchase local traditional products
Take the opportunity to taste the flavours of local gastronomy - drink local beer, wine or fruit juice rather than imported brands and buy and eat locally produced food
Travel with a genuine desire to learn more about the people of your host country.
When taking picture of people ask permission first and respect their wishes.
